This post is just an update of my goals for the site, upcoming giveaways, and a new partnership.
It might seem like my posts are all over the place but that’s not the case. When I first started blogging it wasn’t just one topic I wanted to cover. I wanted to document my journey through life (hair and health), share my stories with an audience, and let others do the same. In the beginning it seemed as if I was all about hair or all about health but I really want the site to be more than a hair site or a fitness site and in time I’m hoping you all will see.
I’m excited to announce that I will be writing and partnering with a natural hair site UntouchMyHair. My BC story is on their site and I’m really excited about the partnership look for a giveaway (or three) really soon. Please go on the site if you want to learn more and of course I’ll be writing for them and sharing with on this site.
Speaking of giveaways I have some very special giveaways coming up very soon :). I won’t say what they are but I will say this there’s another Tropical Traditions giveaway and there will be two butter giveaways. Stay tuned, subscribe, and keep up with us so you don’t miss out. If you know of some natural hair lines I should try please comment them below or send me an email I’m actively looking for new lines.
Lastly (I know you’re sick of reading) I’ll be doing a smoothie cleanse soon. I’ve posted many different Green Smoothie recipes but you can never have enough. I’ll be posting the recipes and I can’t promise daily updates but I will try. Join me if you can. Here’s a site I found that has 25 different detox smoothie recipes.

I’ve been fully natural since September 8, 2012 but my journey for more natural and healthier hair started a couple years ago when I noticed my hair wouldn’t grow past my shoulders after I started relaxing my hair. Before my first relaxer my hair was well past my shoulders, it was so much for me to try and care for and too much for my mother. When I noticed my hair wouldn’t grow past my shoulders but I had so much new growth ( I had colored my hair prior and I could easily track my growth). I knew the problem wasn’t the rate my hair was growing. It was retaining my all the growth, for some reason my hair was breaking off and I needed to know why.
Long story short. I learned that it was the products I was using. I was using shampoos with sulfates and conditioners with silicones. The sulfates were stripping my hair and the silicones were coating my hair to make it appear shiny and healthy when it wasn’t. Not all silicones are equal some are water soluble and others are non water soluble which means some can be washed away with water and some can’t. I’m too lazy to learn which are harmful and which aren’t so I avoid them at all cost.
Cost. Now that you mention it I want to know why most natural products on the market are $16 and up for one thing. I’m sure there are people out there that can afford that but when you have to pay for school and other things in life. I cannot pay $21 for conditioner, $16 for leave in, and $16 for a styler (gel, curly pudding, and holds). I have about 7 different oils at home that I use for my diy projects and I don’t use more than a couple tbsp when I do use my oils and at most I use about 3. Affordable natural products for your hair can be made at home. I’m making it my business to keep you informed. We’ll go through the whole regimen using products that you have at home and if you don’t have it at home it won’t cost you much to buy. I’ll even offer alternatives to my recipes nothing is set in stone when it comes to a recipe for your hair.
I’ve also been thinking about starting a line of my own. Affordable natural products. I’ll never hide any ingredients and I only use natural ingredients. Let me know how that sounds. A LifeWithDemetra line? Is it too soon?
