If you want the hair and health tips I will post a link to them once I publish them on my tumblr bog. It has the same name as this blog so I’m easy to find. How To Add Veggies and Fruit Into Your Diet

In less than a week the Healthy Hair Challenge for April will start rules are here. One of the challenges is to consume raw fruits and veggies at least three times a week. I’ve received a few questions from you on the matter. A lot of you don’t know how to add raw fruit and veggies into your diet because you’re busy or  you don’t have a blender. Here are a couple of ways to get you started.

  1. Start with salads. You can buy them bagged or make them yourself. They can be your full meal or you can add them on the side. I bought some spring mix and I add a handful to my lunch while I’m at work.
  2. If you don’t have a blender or a juicer and you want juices or smoothies. You can try buying raw juices and smoothies they have in the supermarket. Right now I have Bolthouse brand Juiced Greens, Green Goodness, and Berry Boost. I mix the Juiced Greens with Berry Boost or Green Goodness and that’s my smoothie for the day. I prefer to make my own but I haven’t been able to shop.
  3. You can add fruit to your yogurt or ice cream. You can have carrots as a snack. There are so many small changes you can make.
  4. When you go food shopping buy your fruits and veggies in bulk so you can make salads, smoothies, juices, and snacks.

Was this helpful? If you have any questions please let me know.

DIY Projects

I’m a big on DIY projects I make so many things myself and I want to start sharing those things with you. Before the post starts I want to share that I’ll be doing a Healthy Hair Challenge starting April 1st please click the link to learn more.

So I’m big on wearing my hair out and I would love to have more headbands for days when it’s not looking its best but some headbands aren’t sturdy enough for my hair or they’re too expensive either way I seem to be out of luck. I came across this video yesterday for DIY WIre Headbands and Bun Wire, vlogger Naptural 85 shows three methods of making headbands and bun wires without having to sew anything.

I’ve been making my own mud wash for about a year now and I always mix it up in a bowl. I’d been having such a hard time making it more like a thick liquid until I watched DIY Homemade Clay Hair Cleanser Shampoo Recipe. I used Rhassoul clay and Bentonite clay, lavender and Jasmine instead of ylang ylang, I have my own nettle oil that I’ve made, and sunflower seed oil instead of linden flower oil. I used it last night and my hair responded well to it and my twist out was still amazing.

What DIY projects do you want to see next Monday? Are you willing to try either of these?

Back to the Green….Green Smoothies

Last summer I was so into living a healthier life. I had a green almost every morning, I had raw veggies every day in some form (salad, toppings, veggie wraps etc). When the Fall semester started last year all of the good habits I spent the summer building were gone. I was drinking coffee every morning and less water always eating on the go and never planning meals. I left my green smoothies behind and I’ve missed them.

So I’m getting them back. I’m going to replace breakfast with a green smoothie starting next week on Monday. I miss the energy and how great I felt all of the time. There’s other things I want to share that I’ve been doing for my health…Maca root powder and aloe vera juice. Some natural things I do for beauty and how everything goes. I’ll be updating weekly.

2014 The Year Where I’ll Do Everything

There are so many things I want to do with my life. Depending on the day if you ask me, “What would you like to do with your life?” I might provide you with a different answer. Last month I decided to stop waiting on the perfect conditions to make things happen with my life. I started by selling my natural products and developing my own brand Devine Organics  and of course this journey isn’t easy. I’m putting myself out there, I’m trying to figure out who I want to be, and what stories I want to share.

I’ve also decided to continue writing but I’ll also start sharing my stories on this blog. I want this blog to include more if my life. I want to share more not just health or natural beauty. I’m not sure which day of the week it will be but I’m going to start weekly creative writing posts. It could be a story or a writing exercise I’m using and want to share.

There’s so much to do and I can’t wait anymore.
